I use something on my reef for "moonlite" that is much less expensive. I bought a cord with a single lamp(about the size of a large Christmas tree light)...the one I bought was a replacement for one of those cheap little disco decarator(sic) lamps ... anyway I use a standard red Christmas tree light in it...comes on after the VHO's go off.It is mounted inside my canopy. Gives my reef a very small amount of illumination after hours. Just enough to see whats happening...and total cost was about $5
Just my low tech alternative to over priced options...
I have 2 on my reef and 3 on the FOWLR. The Moonbeams are expensive, but I'm not much of an electrician (or plumber although I'm learning fast) so don't know how to rig up "moon lighting" myself. I really like the Moonbeams shimmering through the water at night. Really looks cool!
