moonlites?

anyone here use moonlites on their tank? ive seen em in mags, and r they worth their price? they seem really expensive, like a 24 inch one was bout 250! wat benefits do they have besides letting u c ur tank at nite? jw

thats about it as far as I can tell.....you can see your tank at night. Pretty much a personal pref. if you get them or not but most people don't.

I have 2 on my reef tank, I love em, 70 bucks a pop,
go with the Hi lites setup LEDS,
at walmart or LFS 20 bucks or so,

I use something on my reef for "moonlite" that is much less expensive. I bought a cord with a single lamp(about the size of a large Christmas tree light)...the one I bought was a replacement for one of those cheap little disco decarator(sic) lamps ... anyway I use a standard red Christmas tree light in it...comes on after the VHO's go off.It is mounted inside my canopy. Gives my reef a very small amount of illumination after hours. Just enough to see whats happening...and total cost was about $5:cool:
Just my low tech alternative to over priced options...:rolleyes:
 
I have 2 on my reef and 3 on the FOWLR. The Moonbeams are expensive, but I'm not much of an electrician (or plumber although I'm learning fast) so don't know how to rig up "moon lighting" myself. I really like the Moonbeams shimmering through the water at night. Really looks cool! :cool:
