Hey Mike,
I have a 46 gal. bowfront, with overflow, two powerheads (one is a Koralia) the other is a 1200 Maxi jet. I have two clowns,
Did you actually have to take out all your live rock and clean it? Reason why I am asking, I got my live rock from Florida and every piece for months now has junk on it that I really hate. It makes the aquarium look dirty. It's light, grey green for the most part and some mossy green on one particular rock, which is all really affecting how my mushrooms are no longer able to expand as they should. I thought maybe getting a cleaner package, but I've got several snails, blue leg crabs, but nothing is cleaning that "stuff" off the rocks.

Hey Mike, I caught what you said about having to clean your live rock due to some algae problems. I have a 46 gal. bowfront, two powerheads, overflow/wet/dry with Aqua C Urchin skimmer, along with a few fish, some cleaner blue leg crags, snails. I also have some softies, mushrooms, yellow toadstool, rose tip anemone, zoas, etc., all doing great. This is my 2nd sw tank, I sold my old one a fews years ago and started this one, BUT bought my live rock from Florida instead of buying actual Fiji live rock from other sources. This live rock grows "stuff" that is invasive and keeping my corals from expanding and growing as they should. Some of the stuff that is growing on one particular rock is like moss, green moss, which is really hard to pull off and it is starting to spread and the other is light, grey green fuzzy, also hard to pull off. It's not cyano. How did you clean your live rock without killing the corals on it and what did you clean it with? I honestly don't know that I can clean this stuff off the rock. I wonder if there is anything that would eat this stuff. Thanks for any suggestions. ~ Linda

I went to lowes / went to the paint dept found a hard bristle paint scrapper.
The brush has about a 1 inch black bristles, long handle. when I was at my lfs the workers told me that you really have to scrub the crap off the rock. Luckally for me all my corals are not stuck to any one rock, I just moved them, took one rock out at a time used some water (old water from a water change I was doing at that time ).I just put some pics up on the show your aquariam there are two seperate post you will see some pics there. any more question just post I will check back ,I will get to post a pic of my brush when I get back from work ( need a battery for the camera).
