more questions on new setup

As I said in my last post, I have a 6 gal. Eclipse thats a year old and I'm turning it into A FOWLR tank. I need some suggestions on fish that are very hardy and not very expensive. Also, do you know where I could give all 10 of my freshwater fish? What would be basic matinence with this tank? I already have
themometer
heater
filter
sipon
net
and other basic supplies
so all i need is
salt mix
live rock
substrate
test kits
right?
I've only had 1 year of freshwater experience, but I have been researching since August. I know a bigger tank is better, but I can't get one right now. (possibly later?) I was thinking I should do water changes once a week. Should I sipon substrate? Am I ready? Thanks so much, your message board is a great help!

Your LFS should glady accept your fresh water fish and may even buy them from you for store credit to help you on your way.

The only way you will be able to sipon substrate is if you have CC. I would suggest that you get sand.
