This is a pic of the same rock about a month later. Is that hair algae on the left? And, what kind of polyps are those. Thanks in advance for your help. This rock has become the most interesting thing in the tank! :)

yes it looks like hair algae on the left and the "polyps" on the right look like aptasia to me a nusaince anemone.

those dont really look like aptasia to me...they could be a number of polyps...i have never been good with identifying coral...so i will let someone else try.

I do not know what they are but I do know they do not look like any aptasia I've seen.

They don't look like aiptasia to me either. To be perfectly honest they look like star polyps to me. Yes I agree that the green crap is hair algae.

Looks like either hair algae or bryopsis(sic)...the polyps appear to be yellow polyps...they can be fast aggressive growers so keep a eye on them.:thinking:
