Morish Idol

Hey Everybody, my uncle just purchased a morish idol a few days ago and so far its not looking good. Does anyone know what kind of foods he should use to hopefully coax this fish into eating? Thanx in advance!

I have heard several times that these fish are not recommended because they can be difficult to keep.
I would try live brine to stimulate feeding.
Most fish will respond to live brine. Hopefully it will work.

Try some live black worms or live brine to get it to start eating,that usually gets most fish to eat.

Another problem with these fish is that they are not only very pickey eaters,,But also VERY SLOW eaters..So if they are put into a tank with ANY compitition for food,They will starve to death.....Unless you are lucky enough to find a tank raised one(which I have never found or seen) they almost allways die...

Ive seen a morish idol in a 300 gal+ tank with a puffer and 3 tangs and a bunch of other fish. I was very surprized because it was very healthy and i pointed out that some of the fish in the other tanks they had were sick.

Your only choice with the idol is to probaly try to force feed it, they aren't the best of species to keep, if you want something to replace it when it dies, which it probaly will, the poormans morish idol looks almost identical, is cheeper and will survive and do well, its also known as a banner fish, goodluck
