Most you can raise salinity in a day?

Hey guys,
I purchased a clownfish that was in water with a salinity of 1.017 and my system is around 1.0215.
I took about 6 hours to acclimate him and all went well for about 10 days. The clownfish has now come down with Lympho (sp).
I was talking to a friend who is extremely knowledgeable and she stated that the most you can safely raise salinity in a day is .002 points.
By her logic it should have taken me about 2 days to acclimate my fish. She feels that the lympho could be attributed to the drastic change in salinity.
So I'm wondering how much can you safely raise your salinity in a day? How long would you have taken to acclimate that fish?
And if anyone has any scientific links to back it up I would love to show her and prove I'm right...if I am.
Thanks
As always thanks a million

I don't 100% know the answer to your question, but I will see if I can find a research paper or something for you..
My gut feeling - Clowns are fairly rugged fish - pretty hardy for the most part.
Fish can live in a wide range of various salinity, whereas inverts are much more affected by changes. Quick changes are never recommended as we all know.
I've had swings from 1.023 to 1.025 without losing fish - although these fish were already acclimated and living in the tank at the time.
Large amounts of water loss from evaporation on a small tank can cause swings like this - not good of course - but still never lost fish because of it.
Performing a 2 day acclimation on a clown going from 1.017 to 1.021 (or 1.022 ) seems a little drastic ... not sure how many hobbyists would have the patience for one, and well .... I've never heard of a 2 days to acclimate a clownfish, or any invert for that matter.
I just don't know for sure ....
I'll see what I can find
Good question
