For all the mothers in your life, how are you celebrating?
I ask because i need ideas.

Thank you...So it's your wife's very first Mother's day. A nice go out to breakfast, or breakfast in bed is always a treat. A nice card with a gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure, nothing wrong with getting a deal for both. Most nail places offer a deal for the two together.
No cash??? No problem...use your computer to create some "Hubby do" coupons for her to cash in throughout the year.

Great ideas Flower!!
I will be making my wife some kick A$$ breakfast. Biscuits and sausage gravy, Sausage pigs in a blanket, fruit, and maybe some bacon.
I will also be doing something with my girls (5 years old and 2 years old) to give the wife (8 1/2 month pregnant) some free time. We will probably clean some house and do some yard work. Then we will get some sort of easy take out dinner.
For her, its not about the gifts, its more about being able to relax and have some free time without the crazyness that small kids can bring.

He is married. She doesn't need the coupons.

I disagree...a foot rub, back rub...on demand from hubby with a coupon, and umm, I will call it because it's a family site...steamy romantic ideas. Such things can make a wife and mother very happy. I was married for 35 years, I should know what makes a wife and mom happy.

Hmm. All good ideas. But ,...
My wife doesnt eat breakfast in the mornings usually. She gets sick.
I already give my wife a foot, back and neck massage on demand, and that is usually every night. So thats nothing really special.
Free time to be alone and for her not to worry might be worth something to look into. But she is the kind of person that likes to spend time with the family on special days like this.
I dont have a lot of money to spend, but could manage something if i can convince my mother in law to take care of Emma while we go do something.

That is the strangest thing I have ever heard of... Is she pregnant again??? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You can eat a huge breakfast and because you have all day to burn off the calories it won't effect you like a large dinner would. They say that you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a popper.
And how could she pass up on all the yummy breakfast food?? Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

It's MOTHERS day.... Include your daughter in whatever you do! Your mother in law might not be too happy if she's just being asked to be a babysitter on mothers day. You should try and find out if your wife wants to spend any time with her mom too.
I am sending my wife out by herself for a massagemanicurepedicure in the morning for a few hours of relaxation then my mom is coming over later in the day for a BBQ so I can take care of both her and my wife.

I'm with DragonZim on the mother in law babysitting...it's her special day as well...LOL, and she raised a teenager to adulthood, she has earned her special day and then some... You know a BBQ for both ladies at one time isn't a bad idea...LOL, if you can cook.

I bought my wife a vacuum for Mother's day one year, She loved it. She ain't my mother. It's up to the kid(s) to take care of mom once they are old enough (with maybe a little help from dad).
What do your in laws have planned? Perhaps you and the FIL could split the cost of a nice dinner for the wife and her mom if she likes being around family on holidays.
Another idea would be to get some plaster and make a First Mother's day plaque with the baby's feet and hand prints in it. Cheap and kinda cool

If you need a coupon to get your husband to do all that...you are doing things wrong.....or need to polish up a few skills.

LOL...My husband... rest his soul, was spoiled rotten...I was always doing things for him. Whatever I wanted, he would always try and provide, but the pampering part was not his strength. I taught my kids how to rub my feet and shoulders...now my grandkids do it for me. Dan died Nov. 1, 2010 I still miss him.
