I am about to move from a 20 to a 50. I already have about 40 pounds of live rock and 20 pounds of live sand in the 20. I have an additional 40 pounds of live sand from the LFS in bags and an additional 20 pounds of live rock cureing. Other than that, everything else will stay the same. Should I still cycle the 50 or will I be OK adding the aged live sand as the top layer of the new sand, moving in the live rock, adding the extra 30 gallons of water and then the fish?

new sand goes on the bottom,...add the water then let it circulate for an hour and test.

i don't think you'll need a full cycle it should be a quick one. just check ur levels often until they are showing signs of nearing zero. good luck.
