I have a carpet that I'm trying to relocate to a more "suitable" home for him....problem is that I can't figure out how to convince him to loosen his grip without causing any damage. Are there any tricks to getting an anemone to let go of it's spot?
I've always heard that you wedge your fingernail under it's food. Putting flow on it will cause it to loosen it's foot and that may help as well. If this answer isn't helpful (as I have no experience), at least it will help bump your thread. Good Luck with this.
I tried positioning the powerheads to direct more flow at him and he hasn't budged....unfortunately my tank is tall and even with my arm in the tank as far as possible I cannot reach the bottom of his foot. He has his foot wedged half under a rock on the very bottom of the tank. I can get a clear shot if I look from inside the stand up at the bottom of the tank. I was actually wondering if I could chill the glass beneath his foot enough if that would make him consider moving along
Best way is slowly work under his foot.. It's a HUGE pain but I did it to mine with no rips.. slowly worked him over close to 5 minutes... not easy to do.
