Hey,
This topic comes up from time to time. Do a search on the top of this screen and you'll find lots of good info that's already been put out there. Since you're not actually moving it outside it shouldn't be too hard to save everything.

A suggestion for the future- I bought a new tank to upgrade my old one, and I did steel reinforcements and put on 8 industrial castors so now I can move the tank whenever I need to. In my case, this means I could put the new one where the old one was while gradully shifting over my LR and stuff to the new and not triggering a cycle.

A few weeks ago I moved a 55 gallon reef tank 600 miles with no fatalites! THe key was maintaining water temperature! Keeping the fish in the Dark! And be prepared for anything!!!!

I just moved my 45 last week to make room for my new 55. I siphoned out all but ~4" of water into large garbage cans and then moved the tank and replaced the water. This won't be as easy for you since you have a much larger tank and if you have a dsb, this will make it even heavier. If yo have LR, I suggest that you pull that out as well and place it in the cans with the water to cut down on the weight that you move. Good Luck!
