Moving a tank

Getting ready to move a tank to my place and had a question.I have heard alot from others about moving the water in gallon rubbermainds , putting the live rick in buckets, fish in sealed containers ect. Do I need to take all the sand out of the tank or can I move it with sand in it . Any input would be great. I am only moving the tank 2 blocks away in my SUV.

id take it out so you can wipe the tank down and get all the nasty water out.. but if you really dont want to it shouldnt hurt anything if you can lift the tank leave enough water to cover the sand till its to your house then wipe the tank down and suck the nasty water out and add new water...
id say itd be just as easy in the end and even better just to take the sand out and put it back!
