Moving a tank

i hate the shelf/stand thing my tank was originally set up on and im going to build a stand and swap it in about two weeks
how would i go about moving the tank? its going in the same spot, just a different stand. I finally got the LR just the way i want it and id hate to take it down and try and get it back, tried it once and it never looked the same.
its a 40gal breeder and i can have people help me move it.
the way i am thinking is get the new stand ready, drain the majority of the water, but not all of it, remove the equipment and leave the LR and everything in, move the old stand, put the new in, set the tank on and fill it back up quick all within about 15 minutes
no fish in the tank right now, all in the hypo tank, but inverts and stuff are in the tank

If you do it fast enough you might just have to remove the water from it. you and someone else hold the tank, and one other person move the old stand out and the new one in place

thanks, thats what i was thinking, ill probably have to remove some of the LR anyways so it doesnt fall on any inverts
