Hello. So I just won a new tank from that place where you bid on things. I don't know why we can't name it but I'll do as you all do. # 4300809985 incase you want to check it out. I think it's a great deal. Anyway it's my first tank. I've done some reading but am still nervous about the move. It's ten or so miles but the setting up and keeping stuff alive worries me a bit. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Second option is to pay my LFS to help. $60/hr for about four hours work = $240 plus. They guarantee all shall live.
P.S. This is a repost in a new forum to get more info.

When I bought my 140, I had to tear it down and move it like 40 miles. It took all day, It did not help that I was so new to this hobby. But I did it and everyone survived.
I brought along coolers, I put the fish in the coolers. This is in Arizona and it was August so it was warm, I was trying to keep the temp good for the fish.
We went to Home Depot and bought 5 gal buckets, I put all the LS in the buckets, I put some of the water in a 30 gal mixing container, and I also put water in all thw water jugs I had, ( 5 gal, 7 gal, 3 gal) I also used those big rubber maid garbage cans (Don't fill it all the way, it is very heavy) The LR went into buckets with water from the tank.
When we made it to my house I put PH in the coolers with the fish, oh I also put a piece of LR in the coolers after we made it home, so the fish would feel more comfortble.
We cleaned out the tank and pumps and everything, it was really gross. Added the LS, started adding the water back and set the LR back in, then I baged my fish and acclimated them. All turned out well amazingly.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
:)
