Moving Dusters

Hey guys. hmm I've got feather dusters on my love rock and they are spreading. YAY. lol well i was wondering if i could move the duster from the rocks because they look pretty attached. (my leatherfinger coral, also came with the rock, are budding everywhere and i want them to without the dusters there.)
so could i move the small dusters off the rock and into the sand or somethin?

I tried to dislodge my duster during a re-aquascape on Friday. I was very careful but he left his tube in the process and I had to take him out or my hermits would have destroyed him.
I don't know how I could have been more careful or if I could have cut his tube with something?
