Moving my 55gal aquarium 2 inches from wall

Hello,
I have a 55 gal corner aquarium that was setup approximately two months ago after upgrading from a smaller tank. The tank is finally hosting to our fish/inverts, and live rock/ sand; everthing is striving. While this is great I have a huge problem. When setting up the tank we didn't leave enough room for our HOB Octopus protein skimmer. We now need to move the tank two inches further away from the wall.
I was considering removing some of the water and asking several friends to help but I dont want to stress out my fish and tumble the live rock. Has anyone ever encountered this problem before and has any suggestions?

I had the same issue with a 40 gallon a few years ago. I am not saying this is the best solution but it worked for me.
I siphoned as much water out as I could leaving the corals covered. Then VERY CAREFULLY tipped the stand to get big furniture sliders under it. Slid the stand/tank where I wanted it (pushing at the bottom) then removing the sliders. Pump all the water back into the tank, start up all your equipment.
Good time to do a water change also.
Good Luck!

i drained about 1/3 out of my old 125 before sliding it 4 " out to make room for an overflow.
it was only because i couldn't move it with all of that weight. i would just lay on the floor on my side and pull one side of the tank with my feet against the wall a couple inches, then do the other side the same way until it's where you want it.
i didn't use furniture sliders and i didn't tip the stand. i kept it completely upright. it was on carpet, so it slid fairly easily.

I just did that for the exact same size tank no more than 2 weeks ago
I did what everyone else has said. Drain about 1/3 - 1/2 water out, and just carefully lift. In reality you only need like 2-4 inches (depending on the HOB) Not a huge distance!
