OK I decided to go back to Grad school, however I need to move my 55 gallon From Storm Lake Iowa to Omaha. About a 2 1/2hr trip. What is the best way of moving everything? I want to do this coming weekend. Thanks in advance for the help!!

I have actually done this myself, but I have read alot of posts about moving tanks. Do a search on these boards. You should find a ton of help. You probably will need to buy quite a few buckets with sealable lids and move most of the water/rocks/etc..

My suggestions are as follows:
Make a list of everything you have in the tank and keep it handy when taking down tank so nothing is forgotten. The rock could be kept in large plastic containers from home depot or such. You don't have to completely fill these up with water. Just place wet newspaper throughout. Get plenty of large plastic bags from your lfs(rubber bands also), they could also provide you with styrofoam containers that they receive with shipments of fish you'll use these for all your livestock. Bag corals in their own separate bags and the same goes with the fish. Hermits of same type can be bagged together. I would keep shrimp in separate bags as well. Sand can be put in separate plastic container or such. Try to empty tank completely so there is no unnecessary stress put on the glass while moving. Most of your water will probably be bagged with fish and corals but you will need a separate container for the rest. Hope everything goes well!!!
