moving picasso

Have a picasso I need to move to a new tank, it's been in a FOWLR for about 1 year. Don't know much about the water quality they require. Will it do well in a tank with a wet/dry only (no LR) if I use some cycled water and substrate from the current tank and let the new tank cycle before adding the trigger. Or should I just wait until I can afford more LR.
Thx

well some people believe that triggers can survive a cycling perioid, my clown and niger did. but i would add live rock they really need it espiccally if they are going to be stressed with water quality. but triggers are generally very hardy and the huma should be fine, but since they are messy eates i would reccommend a skimmer.

Triggers are hardy fish. FO tanks do not require lr. Wet/dry filters are sufficient.
You can add lr if you want for decoration or added filtration but there is no evidence that it is required in FO tanks.
In fact most aggressive fish are hardy and can withstand less than ideal water conditions.
You can cycle a tank with a trigger but a couple of dead raw shrimp cost less than a trigger does.
