Moving rocks?

I want to change the way I have my live rock in my tank cuase when I first started two years ago I didn't really know what I was doing and would like to move some of the structures away from the glass. How bad would this be to my fish that have all been in there over a year.

Won't harm your fish at all, they will just have to stake out new territories.

OH one question, are your rock sitting in a DSB Deep sand bed?

Just as long as they rocks are not situated IN a DSB, then you should be fine to move them. It's actually encouraged if you have a subordinate fish that is being bullied. Just be careful not to disturb the sand as you move them, or you'll cloud the tank. If you have a CC bed, then you won't have to worry about clouding it.

no they are in coral ruble. And that is part of the problem. I have an engineer goby who decided that all the coral ruble needed to be on the top of the rocks instead of underneath. My other tought was to move a little bit at a time. My lfs people said it would be risky cause it could cause the fish stress. And it isn't really broke. Just a couple of dead spots and stuff is too clsoe to the glass its hhard to clean it.

Well, to fix the dead spots I would just add a few powerheads, the wouldn't even have to be very powerful, just directed right.
