moving sand around?

is it bad if i move my sand around because i dont have any rock in the tank right now because im doing a hypo on my dt and my power heads have moved my sand around and some of the glass is showing. i dont have a deep sand bed. maybe 1-2" when i go to put my rock back in the tank...can i adjust the sand and make it flat like it was?

I move my sand around ALOT when doing maintenence and on purpose. never had any ill effects. And I mean turned over from the bottom to the top. I have about 2-3"
