Moving tank Q

I bought a 120 gallon reef ready last weekend and I plan to pick it up this week. I am building my stand and plan to use my existing 55gallon as the refugium and I have a few questions about moving it. I currently have roughly 100lbs live rock, which I will take out during the move and I also have roughly 100lbs of sand but I’d like to keep the DSB in the fuge and go BB on the new display tank. My question, I hate the idea of disturbing my dsb but I’m very nervous about keeping all the sand in the bottom of the 55 during the move to the new stand. If anyone has an idea of how much would be safe to leave in it would be appreciated.

The sand is ok to leave in, you must take out the water to the sand level though. Do not lean the tank to pick it up, try sliding it around to get your hands underneath.
