Moving tank

I am in the process of moving a 75SW tank. I realize I need to break the tank down completely. However I have a Lunar Wrasse (approx. 5" long) that I want to keep. I bought a 7.5 gallon glass tank with an undergravel, and I plan on setting that up with my water that is in place now. Will he survive long enough in this smaller aquarium in order for my 75 to get back up and running? (3-6 weeks?)

Tricky questions...
How do you think you would do, if someone locked you in a closet for 3-6 weeks?
If the move is local, or within reasonable driving time to your old place, see if you could check him in at a local LFS. If not, try and up the smaller tank to like a 20 gallon or larger new plastic trash can.
