can i use my mature reef sand or get new sand?
whats a safe way to transfer the fish/coral/lr?

Put your critters in a tub to start...use as much of the old water as possible...add rock then
sand from the old tank. Then add fresh saltwater premixed 24 hours before your transfer....Put your critters into the tank after you acclimate them.
It will be like a big water change, but I would personally acclimate them just to be on the safe side.
