Mp3 Player problems, please help

Ive had this mp3 player for a while without any problems, except i lost the installation cd. Well, i just found the installation cd again today to transfer the songs over to the player with (yea, i ve been listeing to the same songs for a freaking YEAR) I got an itunes gift card for christmas, and downloaded 25 of my favorite songs. Well, they all transferred over fine and are stored in the player. They just wont play. Anyone have any idea wats going on? I have an iRiver 128 mb mp3 player, 2 years old, works fine, not overdone on memory or anything, old songs work, new oens dont. Please help me, im desperate. lol

Do the songs play from your computer okay?

Yes, they play from my computer fine. Just, when I look at the file names there is a little tiny lock on the logo, and then it is called an mpeg-4, and says (protected) at the end of the file name. It goes onto my player fine, but then wen i try to play em it doesnt work. And there is like a little picture next to the songs on the list, and there is an m inside of the songs that work. Im gonna contact iRiver right now...

they are mpeg-4 format... the songs ??
you might wanna check if your mp3 player supports that format... it might not....
for future downloading i woud suggest a basic mp3 format ... or something simple like that ...a lot has happened in 2 years as far as music downloading
