Two syphon tubes keep the water level the same at all times. As water comes in on one side of the tank it is syphoned out at the other.

Sweet, thanks a lot, your filtration method seems to be what I am looking for so I am try to model it. I plan on setting up my saltwater tank when I get back from basic training this summer. I am gonna build a new house with the money I get and I intend on putting at least a 125 in the wall. Any ideas on how to light it since I wouldn't be able to put a normal canopy on it. What the top looks like is really not an issue as it will be behind a wall.

A 125 in the wall is a dream of mine.As for lighting I have no idea what will work, but I'm sure you can figure it out. The algae in my refugium was all given to me by two diferent stores.I went in to buy the stuff and they would not take my money. One guy wouldn't give me the bag till I put my money back in my pocket. I thought that was pretty cool, the next time I go there I am going to bring him back a bag full. I have heard that since I was there he now has that tank full of tangs, and NO algae at all.

Ranger, I'd love to see the pics and any info would be much appreciated. i have a few ideas on how I am going to do it but I am not sure of the lighting yet. I will have plenty of room, I'm just trying to figure out what brands and how much of what to buy at the moment. My in wall tank will be in my living room with an easy view from the kitchen too. It should be sweet when I finally get around to doing it. Still a lot to get done before it is a reality. Again, any input would be nice.
