Hi everyone, I just purchased a used skimmer.. went to clean the beckett and took it all apart. I took notice to the way it was assembled so I could reassemble the same way. Anway on was on the MRC website and the diagram they have on how to put one one piece that looks like an arrow with a ball on the bottom seems to be backwards to the way it should? I will post the picture of their diagram and an actuall picture on how It was /I think it is suppossed to be installed.
Please give me your feed back.

Yeah the beckett does come apart, but never paid any attention to mine. Most people actually super glue them together (the 2 halves) because after time they can really rattle and create noise, and gluing them together eliminates that problem.
I've been running mine for roughly 4 years and see no reason to even pull the beckett apart. No real reason to separate the halves IMHO.

Honestly I would reassemble it the way their diagram shows....What might seem logical to you probably isn't correct. Sorry for all the posts, but just went to the garage and double checked my spare beckett and this beckett hasn't been used at all, but their diagram is correct on the assembly.

Thanks guys. yea its hard to notice but the 'arrow' part and the one side of the casing has a notch.. if it doesnt seat in there.. it wont close... that was my problem.. i didnt know there was a grove for it to fit into.

When those skimmers are dialed in they are skimming monsters....Kind of hard to compare a beckett skimmer to a needlewheel when it comes to the amount of water they can process. The drawback is the pumps required to drive the things.....I have been pleased with mine though.
