Mud Filter

hey everyone, I just went to my LFS to get more salt water and her said something about having a mud filter would reduce they need of water changes, I told him I had an aquapod and he said he can make the back area into one for $200 + mud. Is this worth it? Is it something I can do myself? Pics? Thanks :help:

I don't think it is worth it but I don't really know. I think you could do it yourself for less but, I don't know how to do it. Good luck
