mud for a mudfilter

Does anyone know what the mud really is and where you can find some? The local shops won't say a thing so they can make big money on it.

If you are referring to Miracle Mud, it is patent pending. If you really like to know the details of the mud go look for the patent filing. But why bother. According to Michael Paletta -a SW fish authority- it seems to work well. However, I have not heard of -many people that actually use it. Most of us have (or are looking to add) a refugium with just regular live sand.
