After trying to find a Linckia(with Ophiura's help,Thank you
) that may do well in my 55 gallon tank, finally found an online store that had these in stock.Just receieved my multifora/multiflora linckia a few days ago. About a 3 hour acclimation.I would have gone for 5 hours but my levels were almost exact to the online store I got him from(Salinity 1.025 temp 78) He is in a 55 gallon 6 month old tank with 75 pounds of live rock. Most of the live rock came from a buddys tank that was about 8 years old. Pretty well aged stuff.
The star arrived with 2 long legs 2 shorter and a stub where it is growing a new leg. In just the 2 days I have had it, the stub leg has grown so much. It's really cool to see. So far is doing really well. First day it spent most of it's time near the surface with one leg out of the water.I have been reading they are tidal starfish. Today he was moving around more and then "hugged" the top of the heater(non-heating part) for the rest of the day. It seems it is nocturnal. As soon as the lights go off it is on the move. Very cool. I hope it has babies in the future. If so I will have to sell them. Anyone want one?..lol
I will post pictures soon and keep everyone updated!
