Multiple Lions

Dumb question, but better safe than sorry. I was wondering if multiple Lionfish can live together in the same tank without causing harm to each other? Right now I have a juvenile Volitan Lionfish and have been thinking about adding a Fuzzy Dwarf as well. My tank is a 50 gal.
I understand Volitans get fairly large, and by then I will have given it to my friend (who owns a 300 gallon tank). I just want to know if it's safe to keep the lions together in the meantime.

i keep a huge russles and huge volitang together, so it is def. possible BUT
i would worry about the size of the volitan when it gets large it will be able to EASILY consume a dwarf lionfish,, id ont know if it would or not but i dont see why it wouldnt either..

You are right, Volitans can eat dwarfs, it is recommended to add the dwarf before the Volitan, and the dwarf should be larger than the Volitan. I have kept the mix together but I already had my dwarf and it was an adult.
IMO I would not try it in your 50g, it is going to be tough keeping up with the water quality as is, lions produce a lot of waste. Volitans grow 8-10 inches in the first year and will be around 12-15 inches in 18 months.

I agree the tank is to small, But in a larger tank I would not worry.

I was just at Seaworld the other day, also my tank maintance guys who customed my tank, worked for Seaworld for a while, they have a Volitan tank which is prob 1000g, but they have like 20 in there, and they have had that tank forever!
guess they just keep them fed well.

well ya thats a 1,000, but in the standard size tank it might be stressful

One of my best friends keeps a 90gal. with a Zebra, Fuzzy, Antennata and a Fu Man Chu and it's worked great, for a few years now.

In the same tank, he also a mated pair of Rouge Waspfish and another large Scorpionfish, that's still unidentified.
