Multiple Perculas

I know it CAN work... I want to know the likelihood. If it were up to me, I'd have one nice pair of mated perculas, and let that be it. There would be no, "well, maybe we can squeeze this in" or, "it's worth a try". Experimenting in a reef can be disastrous, I know from personal experience. I've already told my dad that if we get maroon clowns, it will be one mated pair, and NO other clowns. So he wants perculas. A black pair and a pair of some sort of the orange variety. It's a 55 gallon tank, so they'd have a fair amount of room to est. territory, though it's not so commodious that I'm willing to give in without a third party opinion. Really, they're the same species, and if I got them at the same age, same time, they might even become some sort of mixed school. But what are the chances of them co-existing peacefully? I don't want discord in my tank... stress-free is my goal. So, likelihoods, anyone?

thats the same thing every one has said, i kept 7 clowns in my tank for over 2 years, i recently moved my pair of perculas to my 150 gallon and left 5 maroons in my 75...and yet every one tells me they will turn on each other HAH!!! it can be done...but you must know maroons are vicious there is a VERY fine line in their hierarchy i could explane it but that would take alot of time and end with me in a rageing fit becuase every one keeps saing it cant be done haha..they are like wolfs the 2 largest will be your breeding pair and the smaller cannot (or not allowed to) breed they must wait their turn for breeding rights..and when you add a new one it has to be the low man on the totem..if he decides he wants to cut in line the one that he cut in line of will fight him and then the hole pack is on him and hes dead
