multiple questions for Beth , Terry

1) Are sharks and eels more resilient to ich because of slimecoat?
2) I recently lost my lionfish. I will explain the course of events.
Tank parameters were within tolerences. Started to see what I thought was cloudy eye on him , so I started a maracyn cycle.
after the 3rd day he came up a floater. Last night I tested water at ***** (only place still open), as my test kit is at friends house at the moment.

my panther grouper seemed to be breathing a little heavy this morning, I restarted my skimmer and addeda small bit of carbon
everyone else in tank seems to be fine: puffer, blue ribbon eel, bamboo shark, yellow tang, snowflake eel, 2 large red hermits

How long have you had the tank set up and how long have you had the fish.
I'd try and filter out the medication you put in there as much as possible via water changes and carbon.
What are you using for filtration and water movement? What are you feeding the fish?

tank has been up for 6 months
fish in for 4 almost 5 months
i am feeding them silversides, krill, and also mysis
everyone eats, im feeding 2-3 times per week
I use zoe and garlic extreme (blue ribbon does not like the extreme).
I have 2 maxi jet 900's and a cap 200
the return pump is a mag 9 and is directed upwards slightly to agitate the top the cap 200 does the same for the opposite side.
The filter on this tank is a 150 gallon pro wet/dry built in skimmer
with a mag 9 return
4 x 96 pc setup with dual fans (one in , one out)
2 white 2 actinic bulbs

just got home
my panther grouper has a couple areas on him that look like a light sandpaper has been applied to him
there is also a spot that is slightly red (irritated) and slightly raised, about the size of a pea.
I will go and try to take a pic real quick
his coloring atm is still brilliant white

Well, he looks kinda skinny. I for one think fish need to be daily. Lets see if Terry sees this post and gives an opinion on the bulge.

he breathin a bit hard. His appetite is not as good as normal
yesterday he ate one small silverside, and feeding before he only grazed.
His personallity is off too.
He normally would shake and bake at the glass with me, as I did the same, he has not done that for a few days
The water is much clearer today after i added carbon last night

When I got home tonight the rash has spread
looks like someone has taken sandpaper to him also looks red and iritated
I could really use some help here is you can
I can take another pic if you need a clearer shot
I am going to try feeding again now
see what he does
