hey tizzo....
most my shots are pretty darn true... most of the times its hard to get a shot that correctly captures the colors of my corals.... i run phoenix 14K bulbs 3-250W HQI bulbs in PFO pendants on PFO HQI ballast
once in a while ill have one thats saturated more than normal
let me take a look and show u
this pic right here is very accurate
this next one is a little more saturated IMO than reality
the blues thrown off by the bulb can be decieving to the camera, my point and shoot little olympus D-545 camera captures the tank very blue with straight on shots... but it does excellent top down shots with very true to life color
the last couple times like the pics above ive been using my dads fuji finepix s9000 with 10.7 optical zoom and 9mega pixels.... its hard to use since im not use to the focusing part of it
these are all with the new nicer camera and are very true representation
all these are from the olympus camera and are very true
i try to never post pics that are not life like bcuz i have scene many that to me seem unrealitstic and dont want people to think i enhance my photos. IMO the key to good colors is water quality... lights help too... ive noticed some color suffer when alk drops down too low for an extended period of time... my tank does not like having an alk at or below 8.o dkh so ive been keeping up in the high 9's now.... another thing about color for sps is making sure your tank is not too sterile meaning u do need some organics in your water from feedings your fish
i hope this helps some tizzo im glad u asked the questions!
