I have a 55gallon with bulleye mushrooms. I have 260 pc lights on them. THey have been in the tank for 3 weeks. How high would you place them? What's the highest...Curious too, how fast has someone have mushrooms grow? THanks for you info.

shrooms can go just about anywhere. however they dont really like high water current, and will usually detach if they're moving around too much. as for growth, from what ive seen they usally spread before they get huge.

I have a 55 with green striped shrooms and they are doing great. I agree with wango, they shouldn't have direct flow. I have mine placed about mid-tank, I also have pc's. I feed once a week with dt's and they are going nuts. They are reproducing on the rock I purchased them on, to the point they have no more room and are now beginning to grow below as well. I have also had two that have fallen off the rock (found them floating around in tank), and I placed them mid-tank on a rock on the opposite side of tank (area with little flow) and they attached themselves to the rock and are beginning to propagate there as well. My tank is about 6 mos old and this was one of the first pieces of coral that I bought. Good luck. :happyfish

I have my bullseye's just off my sand bed about 22 - 24 inches down. The three of them have doubled in size in about 6 months. All my shrooms red, striped, hairy, blue, etc seem to like lower placement and indirect current.

I thought direct current was a way to get the to detach so they leave a piece behind and grow a piece where they were and then they move and grow somewhere else as well???

I'm running the same as you. I have the Current Dual Sat. System. This amount does well with my system. I have to adjust a little for other species of coral (place higher on reef, etc.). But yeah, shrooms are doing well at mid-level. With the right h20 conditions, light and flow, they will probably go nuts in your system as well.
