Go with the razor blade. Cut in half if you do not want to do fourths. It works. Scary is hacking a toadstool leather that is as big as cantalope!

Fragging is one of those things that gets easier as time goes by. When I fragged my first zoa's I thought I was going to have a panic attack. Now I walk by the tank, grab a colony, slice, dice, glue and back in the tank in a few minutes and don't think twice about it. Same with shrooms and leathers. It gets easier with time and experience

I agree. I'm not even sahy abotu taking a hammer and butterknife to things at this point. the first couple times I fragged I was all sweats and jitters. now I dont even think about it.

how can u tell if something is ready to be fraged?

I have some huge impossible to kill mushrooms, I routinely rip them in half when I move the rock around, chopped through with a serrated knife one time because I didn't have anything else to use, they always recover just fine. Ricordia are a little more touchy but some mushrooms are unkillable.
