Mushroom rock/w lil dusters?

I bought a mushroom rock w/about 6 on it yesterday, It has a few litter feather dusters on it, a few of them are really light colored and I found one that is red. Question is will these grow larger? Will they multiply? The little red one is pretty nice!

They'll stay about the same size. If there's a lot of nutrients in your tank then they will multiply.

what other nutrients other than calcium? Should I be adding something else?

They feed off phytoplankton and zooplankton. You can buy these to add to the tank or just slow down on the skimming.

Small red feather dusters grow randomly in my tank. I have always wondered about them. There must be (dormant?) spores that, given the right factors, can grow? They're pretty cool.

I only have one, did yours spread?

I wouldn't call it spreading..more like appearing at random. Not just one rock. Not just one water flow area. Really only common denom. is access to light. Mine do grow, but very slowly and the largest I have seen is only 1/8 maybe 1/4 inch across, tops. Enjoyable, though.
