I got as a gift these aswesome baby with purple stripped mushrooms. They are under PC in a 55 gallon tank were all the perameters are great. There is mediumd flow and there are in the middle of the tank. They arent opening up, what can i do? Should i move to a area where there is more flow or less light like the bottom of the tank?
Also what supplements do people add to the tanks?
I add Cacium, Alk, Coral Vite, Strontium and Phytoplex. Should I add anything else? Also what is Molydium?
thank you for your help!!!

Mushrooms are easy once established. They prefer a low current. Defenitely not strong! They should be able to tolerate any position under a pc. Metal halides are a different story. They do not like that kind of intense lighting. The only additive required by shrooms (and most softies) is iodine. Give your colony a few days of adjustment. Sometimes it can take up to a week or longer for them to fully open. Good luck, TT.

Hey TeeTee, you can have some mushrooms under halides if the light is high enough off the tank. I had one that got to be nearly as big as a dinner plate. Of course, the one I am thinking of was on the sand, and my halide was only a 150watt. If you can name the mushroom, that would be way cool. I have forgotten. Pics below.

Hey Matt Rogers,
Beautiful set up! Congratulations. That is one big shroom! I would say that it is a fuzzy elephant ear. I have three different elephants in my set up. Then do get large and may, in the long run, gobble up smaller fish or inverts (so the literature says).
