Mushrooms shriveled up

My healthy vibrant mushrooms shriveled up after I adjusted the salinity in my tank from 1.020 to 1.024? Will they come back?

do you have other corals that are acting strange or just the mushrooms?

Time to post all your water test results:
Check the following:
PH
Nitrates
Calcium
Alkalinity or KH
ammonia
Nitrites
Phosphates
What are you using to check the SG, refractometer or hydrometer? What is temp?
Corals, mushrooms in paticular do not close up for 3 weeks because you raised the SG from 1.020 to 1.024 over a 24 hour period. If you have not moved your power heads all should be like it was from the beginning.....so time to do some tests...
If you don't have your own kits:
You need a master test kit, you need to do your own testing if you want a reef tank.

You need to test for the list I gave you. Phosphates and nitrates are the main cause of corals drawing up. The good news is that as soon as you do your water tests and see what the problem is, we can adjust the water and the mushroom corals being so very hardy will bounce back and be beautiful again. But you must find out what the problem is. 99.9% of the time it's a water problem.
Get these test kits and check the following levels...I marked in read what are perfect levels so you know what to look for on your test readings. Don't go to the local fish store and have them say all is well. If you are going to keep corals.....get your own test kits. Master test kits are cheaper, check the box to see if they have all you need from my list.
PH....8.4 (check at mid-day or just before lights out, early morning you will get the lowest reading)
Nitrates...0 - 10
Calcium......400 - 450
Alkalinity or KH Alk =4 for a reef and 2.5 fish only.....KH= 7 - 12
Ammonia..0
Nitrites...0
Phosphates....0
Once you have done your tests post them so we can help you if anything is off.

how many mushrooms are we talking about here? Just a few or hundreds? How often do you do water changes?

Just a few. They are starters for me. I'm just getting involved in corals. Water changes every month

I agree water testing for everything yourself is an absolute must when you get into the coral part of saltwater... how much of a water change are you doing monthly? (i.e. 10%, 25% what)... Also I have always had better luck with my corals from mushrooms to ricordeas to polyps and anemones by doing a 10% water change weekly instead of more monthly... The colors will be more vibrant and they will open wider... Also with mushrooms I noticed lighting is almost key... Try moving them just slightly into to lower light if you have them under bright lights and vice versa if you have lower lighting... Sometimes 1/4 inch makes the world of difference.

My first coral was a rock covered in true blue mushrooms....I'm 53 now and I started corals when I was in my early 40s so it's been a while...I didn't keep track of a date when I began. Anyway I still have my mushroom rock...the same one today...it lets little ones go to find a new home so they do spread.....LOL...yes I know..they look purple but that's what they call them.
