Mushrooms under 50/50 lighting???

Brief history...we bought a used salt water set up a few weeks ago and just transfered tank and all livestock to our home and set it all back up. I have several purple striped mushroom corals growing in this 55 gallon tank. The guy at my LFS said there was no way I could have them growing because I only have the standard 50/50 15 watt lights on my tank. However, they are growing very well and are reproducing (from 8 to 13 over the last couple of weeks)! Are there any other similar mushroom corals that will grow under 50/50 lighting? I would love to have some other colors to add to my tank. Thanks in advance!

I got my tank used from a friend (who had it setup for several years)
it's always had mushrooms, doing very well (until today, I may have hurt the big one, see my other post today

)
this tank is about 48gal, tall, and has 2 50/50 55watt coralife bulbes
everything seems pretty happy with the lighting
but,
then again, I'm pretty new at this

I had mushrooms under 50/50 for a long time. Never had real good color, though. Once lights were upgraded they started changing color and are now very beautiful. The reproduction is prolly from being disturbed. Every time I make mine mad they make more.
