The softies that you mention are probably the easiest of corals to keep. By that I mean they are rated 'for beginers'. They do not require intense lighting such as metal halides, but would to well under HO, VHO, or PC lighting. You could even have mushroom under normal output fluorescent lighting; however, you should have at least 2.5 watts per gallon (some might say you could get away with an even lower level but, I'd like to think you want your corals to thrive and not just survive).
Softies, for the most part, do not require a strong water current. In fact, mushrooms prefer a more gentle current.
Softies benefit from iodine supplementaion. Not much else is required other that low nitare readings (as with all corals). Hope this was helpful. TT
