sorry the pictures didnt come out better, but i am still learning. also, this is my first experience with corals, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know. i have 20 watts of pc lighting 50/50. im not sure if i will add more or not, i dont really plan on keeping anything that requires too much lighting. i put in 25 pounds of live sand, 8 pounds of cured live rock. i have a small powerhead, and a small hob filter that i add carbon media too maybe once every two weeks for a day or two. the inhabitants are only small star fish that came on the live rock, about 30 of them, as well as tiny serpent stars that came on the rock as well. also, there are about 25 small snails that hitchhiked the way to the tank. not sure what to get as inhabitants for it. but i am up for suggestions

Hi, nice tank
The second picture with your mushrooms looks like ricordia. I might be wrong though. I have that same thing and it is ricordia I have but yours might be different. Mine is a pinkish color in the center and the fingers as I call them are a light green.
As I was told these are suppose to be quite self spreading. I have one right now and it was stuck to a piece of my live rock in the shade. It has now moved right on top in the full light. So I think it just needed to get settled in. Really pretty and quite neat I think.
Your mushrooms look great
Are you going to put a back color on your tank to hide those cords? That would finish it off really nicely. I know alot of people paint their tanks, I prefer not to. But if you are undecided about color go and get some construcition paper the color(s) you like and stick them up before you decide to paint etc. Works great and is cheap too.
I don't know what the other corals are but there are so many amazing people on this board that you will get the right answer.
Good Luck

What about the oral disc? I don't think they are bubble-tip anemones because these spread too fast and their tentacles seem too small to be BTAs.

maybe i read this wrong but did you say you have 20w 50/50? thats not enough for corals is it? if so then cool that means i could get some shrooms or something!

I have 20 watts 50/50 of light in my 10 gal and my mushrooms are starting to multiply. I don't think you would be able to have any of the harder to grow corals as they would need alot more lighting.
When I told our LFS about the size of tank i was setting up. They strongly suggested that I start with only on 20 watt 50/50 PC at first then if I need more to add another one. So far all is great except one side of the tank is just a bit more shadier than the other that has the light. I am still going to put another one in on the other side when they get more in.
Lots of info about lighting on this forum and lots of opinions too. Happy reading.
