Only 6 days old, but here is my new setup. Still have my 28 Gallon JBJ Nano, but the custom tank sure looks good with it.
Display Tank: 110 pounds of live rock, 90 pounds of araganite
Refugium: 40 pounds course araganite, 20 pounds live sound, 10-15 pounds live rock

wow looks like a lot of bio balls to clean eventually lol.. but other than that it looks really good!!! are you planning on having a colored backround like black or blue?

That will look great.
You won't be disappointed with the AquaLight Pro, either. I assume they are 250's in there?

Do you find that the 250's penetrate it well?
The reason I ask is because I am setting up a friend's 300 with similiar dimensions (just longer) and I want to do the AquaLight pro that has the 3 250's but I am worried it will not penetrate it as much as I'd like.

you will be pleased with the lighting. It is very clean and penetrates to the bottom. I have no regrets with it so far. I really like how the actinic adds to the Halides, very natural looking.

Yeah, I have a smaller AquaLight pro for my reef but that is only a 150. I have never used their 250 fixture.

Very impressive...love the tank, the setup and the family/living/lounging room.
The only thing I'd suggest changing...immediately get rid of those bio-balls, that I see in each overflow.
You're just asking for problems (high nitrates, detrius trap, etc). You'll regret keeping those things in there, later.

In regards to the bio balls:
It is hard to tell, but the overflows are only 1/3 full, the bio balls are there to oxygenate and to silence the crashing of the water.
The way things are designed, I am able to fully fill the overflows to flush the bio balls into filter socks below. There shouldn't be a problem, but if so, I can look at things later.

Any ideas on how to cover the bottom?

The bioballs will be a huge problem down the road and flushing them won't do anything.
If crashing water is problem, get Durso standpipes in the overflows or simply down size your sump return pump so that the overflows don't handle as much GPH.

My buddy, who owns a LFS said that it won't be an issue. he is the one that designed/built the tank for me. I have seen several tanks of his, like this design with no issues.
I do thank you all for your opinions, but I will leave the bioballs where they are. I can control the water via the 4 valves, and choose to have the lower water levels. I can easily remove bio balls at any time and make the water level go to the top of each overflow.
Bio-Balls are like having a tang in a small tank, lots of contraversy...

The setup is very impressive! I think cloth would be just fine for covering the fuge.
As to the bio-balls, there are alot of people on here and -- that are obsessed with having nutrient deficient tanks because they keep SPS dominate tanks. bio-balls would not allow that.

you could use oak plywood and use magnets to attach it to the stand so you could easily remove the front or sides whenever you need access.

Cycle completed a few days ago, put some pajama cardinals and bicolor chromis in the system. Also added shrimp, snails and a sea hare to help eat the hair algae.
