Nope you shouldnt add anything you dont test for. Calc, and alk will play a role on how fast corals and coraline algea grows, but lighting is important too. What do you have?

and also calcium--- that makes big difference... get a Ca test. I'd say 400 would be a good #

Well first coraline algea is a good thing. However you should test for Calcium as Purple up's main ingrediant is calcium, and too much in your aquarium is not good, and could potentially harm it.
 
I never added anything to my tank for coraline algee growth but I only have PC lighting
Also Just added the moonlight and what a awsome shimmer lighting effect it has at night and it doesent bother any of my sleeping cycles
