From what I have read you should have left the tank w/o fish for 4-6 weeks
ALSO...Do some more research on what you can put in a 55G...3 tangs....WAYYY too many...actually you should keep NO tangs in that tank since you are keeping other fish...Of course the NO tangs is my opinion....some say you can keep a tang that does not get big....I wouldn't though.
What type of star is that? Most stars need older tanks to survive
You have some nice corals

tell you the honest truth, not to sure what kind that is, i bought the tank used from a buddy of mine and he had it in there when i bought the tank. My parents used to have an 180g and i love the hobby so i decided to take it off of his hands. I have that star and a serpent star. Ya i found out what you said about the tangs AFTER i bought them. Rookie mistake i know i was just extremely excited to put fish in there!!!!! a suggestions on some fish that might be cool? (after reading this board the last few days, seems like you know what the hell your doing)

IDK much..LOL....I am learning as I go also....but one bit of advice...READ THREADS...lol
I read a lot of threads, even if they do not pertain to me..one day they might.
As far as the damsels..lol...I would keep one of the the blue yellow tails and get rid of the others while you can....they become MONSTERS...one yellow tail should be okay though
WHat types of fish are you looking for?

im going to agree with meowzer no tangs and if ya didnt wait at least 4 weeks with a fishless display then the new fish will more then likley going to get ick. otherwise nice tank. what are you going to do with it?

Hey yall thanks for your replies, ya i only have the damsels in the tank now to make sure the water is free of ick (yes i no it will never be free of ich) and i will be trading them in in about 2 weeks for nicer fish. As for what i am looking for, i really love basically any tangs but i guess my tank is too small, i love triggers and angles but i hear they nip at some coral?? just want something colorful and lively!!! I really want to focus on corals and having only 3 really cool/rare fish!

I have a 55 also, I do have a blue hippo in my tank, but, it is slightly bigger than a quarter, along with a percula clown, scooter blenny, and a domino damsel. (cant help it on the damsel, I love the contrast) I would be very careful as to size of the fish. I tend to lean more toward corals, not so much fish. Just my opionon though. I am planning on going to a bigger tank in January, if not, the hippo would probably not be in there.
