Hi all new here , and new to salt water aquariums. this is my 75 gal. tank the tank was given to me by my uncle who had no use to it after he built a 300 gal wall aquarium so i lucked out and got this for free.
im no expert here an am new to the hobby. i left my tank sit with live sand and a batch of sand from my uncles tank thats been established for over 3 years . let it sit for about 2 months before i added anything.. so slowly but surely im getting stuff added
right now i have about 25lbs of live rock
1x blue hippo tang
1x yellow tang
2x perc clown fish
about 10 hermits/ turbo snails
1x scooter bleny
1 blue and yellow demsel
1x black and white damsel
1x hatian tip anemone
1x bulb anenome
1x Chocolate chip star fish
ive had the tank now for about 6 months of course not everything was added at once. its been a slow process which im enjoying.
about the Haitian pink tip i know it seemed early to get one there a expert only anemone but i did test the water religiously and the lighting. beforehand. and ive had it for over 3 weeks now and its been flourishing. in the pics i just ate some food and seems to curl up every time it eats something larger then a micro particle.
also another question in the pics my clowns were the first fish i purchased 2 months ago and they rarely ever move from that corner of the tank other then to eat any reason for this? i know there territorial but any way to incite them to move somewhere else?

Looks good as far as rock, ...I don't see any powerheads for water movement though....do you have any? Is that fluorescent lights? If so anemones will not do well under that.
My clowns tend to hang in one spot too....
p.s. WELCOME TO SWF

ya i do have 2 power heads also the filter water inflow has 8 steam holes running horizontally in the water level for more water flow on the surface cant see them in the pics , the lights are florescent unfortunately 4 15000k ocean sun, like i said had the anem's for 3 weeks now and seen no problems as of yet. i do plan on upgrading the lights soon as i get some extra cash.

LOL...You must have the powerheads positioned in good spots....out of sight
Where is the Haitian tip???
I would try to get lights as soon as you can...AND YES they are expensive...

on the last pic its on the left side second rock shriveled up eating the food i gave it, ill post pics tom when its in full bloom
and yes the lights are very expensive. what would be a good choice price wise? or what would be a good light rig for that type of tank setup
be in mind its in the middle of my living room :)

Well the best lighting would be Metal Halide...IDK where you live, but if you have reef clubs around start looking to them for a set ...just start googling metal halides and you will see what is out there

Welcome to SWF. My clownfish always hang in the same spot. They will come up to the front for food every once in a while. I'm not sure how long your hippo tang will be happy in the 75g. I have a powder brown tang my son bought for me, I love it. Last year I bought a 180g so it would have more room to swim in. It's been a very slow process to set it up. There have been several set backs. I hope by the end of summer to have it set up.
The cute little blue damsil will become one mean force to recon with. I think they are beautiful, but my experience with them was not so good. I hope yours will be better.
This is one hobby that is full of ups and downs. I just love it. I set up my first tank almost three years ago, and I still can't get enough.
