To all who have given advice along the way-THANKS!
I had a 47 bow that this is replacing. Gonna get some more coral and a new fish or two (gold striped maroon clown, humu, saddle puffer and hippo tang currently)
I am waiting on my new lights (broke down, gonna try the aquaillumination LED) I'll let you all know how they look.
Thanks again

Did you use all water and sand from your old tank? If not you may have some problems with all that live stock having to go through a cycle. Anyways it does look nice. Good luck.

skimmer I got when I bought my 46, is not labled. Thinking I may need a new one, but it seems to pull off a lot of foam. It has venti and sits in sump below.
I used a lot of the water from my old tank, and my LFS let me buy the rest from them (their reef water). I ended up using only about 12 gal new salt water. I ran a few weeks before adding fish from old tank.

Looking forward to seeing the Aquaillumination unit. They're supposed to be much better than Solaris.

Here are some new pics. I have been using triple dose coral vial and garlic, ich is better.
So far I really like the LEDs. I hope the corals, etc like them too. I have one with 'daylight' 100% white and 100% blue, and night 2% withe 4% blue. (blurry because I didn't use a tripod)

so the aquaillumination is made up a 'a bunch of different fixtures' . You get a section for each foot of tank length. I have a 4 foot tank, so have 4 units. All are tied together and work as a single unit. There is some bright and dark stripe effect, but much less noticeable in real life vs pictures. I have had for less than 1 month now, so we will see. Definitely no real heat issues
I'll keep you posted
