My tank has been set-up for about a month and a half now..... Its been a tough road with a huge learnng curve as this is my first tank... But in the end it has been worth all the work... I hope to keep adding more fish to it.....
Are you aware that your niger will nip, maybe eat your sand star? I also have both and mine just lets him know he's there from time to time. Im tring to find mine a good home but dont want to give it back to the lfs.
Tank is looking good. Ive been in this for about 5 months and had alot of the same problems. Hang in its well worth it(unless it crashes again
Thanks...
My niger is very peaceful hasn't bothered my star at all.... Come to think of it everyone said the niger would eat my fire shrimp but he barely messed with it..... My yellow tang actually messed with the shrimp more than the trigger.....
My niger sleeps with my blood shrimp but killed a cleaner. It lasted about 2minutes. I seen what was going on but couldnt get the net fast enough. I wish someone would take him
He's probably 4"+. Great fish but just wrong for the direction my tank is going.
PM me in 3 to 4 weeks and if I havent found someone closer(fed-ex isnt cheep) I will send him to you.
Couple of questions....
Looks just like my old tank I sold before moving it was beautiful
is it an OCEANIC.
and where did you find the coral pieces...they look real...cant find any place that sells real dead coral any more.
Not sure if its an oceanic... bought it used from cl...... It use to be a light oak color I changed it to mahogny to match my decor..... The glass is very thick though about
1/2".... coral pieces where bought at my lfs.....

my only advise is lose the castle... its tacky imo, other than that nice set up but eventually that trigger will eat your star and shrimp, trust me.
AWWWW...I like the castle...I have 2 in my FRESHWATER tanks

agreed, and the fake coral pieces are gonna turn ugly once algae grows on them unless you take them out for a scrubbing, the rest of the rockwork looks great though.
Castles look cool in FW. I think it cheapens the look of saltwater as well as the fake coral, the only way fake coral looks good is if you clean it weekly and keep it clean
Other than that looking good.
nice corner setup. the sifting star wont make it long term though bc its such a new setup. they only eat little critters inside the sandbed, and a new setup just dont hv enough of it.
