I have an Xantharus (spelling?) angel, that has started shaking. Like a dog shaking water. Can't really see anything on him, but I think he is a little paler than normal. PH is 8.2, Ammonia-0, nitrites-0, nitrates-10. I do have a few shrimps and anenomes in the tank, and I have no hospital tank. What could be the problem, and what can I do?

He's not really dashing around. He'll just kind of stay in one place and shake really small shakes side to side. Doesn't do this all the time. Most of the time he looks normal. I did notice him rubbing on a rock once yesterday. Other fish in the tank seem OK but they really are going to the cleaner shrimp alot. Could it be the beginning of ich?

Too late, he died today. he seemed pretty good yesterday and ate like a pig, but was a little pale. Today we found him dead under a piece of coral.

Oh yes,how did I forget. We also found a Royal Gramma dead. He appeared fine yesterday so we aren't sure what is happening. The blue tand and yellow tangs look normal, but the Coral Beauty is kind of acting different, hiding a little more than usual.Still can't see ich on it though.

If it is amyloodinium, what can I do. I plan to setup a quarantine tank before getting any other fish ever. If I should lose the ones I have, how long til I can put new fish in. What about the live rock and shrimps, will they carry it?
I'm not sure this is the problem. It may just be that I put too many fish too soon into my tank. I tested everything yesterday and the Nitrites were just barely up. May be is the problem. Guess I'll have to wait and see, but just wondered what to do before ever adding new fish to that tank.

The same thing just happened to me. I had a lemonpeel angel who was doing fine on Saturday. Sunday he just kind of hung out in one area of the tank for the most part. When he did swim, I thought he seemed sort of shaky or jerky. This morning he was found on the bottom of the tank...deceased. He still looked good. No spots or discolorations. All water tests came out good. No idea what happened. I'm going to do a water change and hope for the best. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

Well, I checked the Nitrites again this morning and there are none. The Coral Beauty doesn't look real good. He's just kind of paler around the face and his back fin is a little frayed. Still eats, though. The Sailfin is fine, the blue tang is normal, but sometimes I think the yellow tangs may be pale. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid!
Hope I don't lose them all!

Amlyoodinium symptoms include rapid breathing by fish, scratching, and, eventually, a powdery dusted appearance of the fishes' body. Have you noticed any of these symptoms?
Please test all of you water parameters:
Specific gravity
Temperture
Ammonia
Nitrite
Natrates
Have you exposed the tank to toxins. Cleaning materials, bug spray, etc .?

0 ammonia
10 nitrates
0 nitrites
8.2 PH
80 temp
.023 salinity
Only one fish breathes rapidly, and that is how he's been for years. The others look completely normal. I think I can see little specks on the fins of the sailfin now, so maybe it is ich.
