sometimes I think you like it when people tell you off. I don't know how many people told you to bring that back.

Yeah, It was a mistake to buy i, i ddint do the research that was necessary, but the guy who sold it to me said that it would be great in my tank, and wouldnt grow to be bigger than it was then... I took his word, and then coundt take it back, they wont take things back or anything, and right away i looked for a home for him, i tried so hard, i posted all over, and called so many places, and i took good care of him, he ate really well, and then got ICH, i treated him for it, but he still wanst doing well, he was fine yesterday afternoon, and then within two hours of me bieng gonw, he died.... I DID NOT TREAT THE FISH BAD AT ALL!!!! I took really good care of it while i was in the proecess fo finding it a good home, so please, dont criticize my caretaking of MY fish.... OF all of the fish ihave had, only two have died, one from being eaten by my CBS, and the batfish, ...........This is my hobby adn what i love and i relly dont appreciate it when people make assumptions before they know the facts.......... i posted this message becasue alot of poeple are trying to help me with the care of the batfish and im sure they would have wanted to know about his death, so . please, if you cant say anything nice (especially when i lost a fish, that took alot of my time and money, and care)dont say anything at all
Thank you

Sorry for your loss.
Seth, pick up a copy of this book . When the LFS employees see you looking up the fish they are trying to sell you they tend to be a lot more honest.

I read this site like it was a Bible before I bought my serious tank stuff, but failed miserably in a 10 gallon tank before I found this place. I made some mistakes, but I learned from them.
One thing that always stuck with me was the guide on this site for what fish to avoid, and that fish is one of them.
-Batfish - Most batfish are extremely sensitive fish and do not ship well at all. The one exception is the orbicularis. This is a very hardy specimen, however, it should be noted, that this fish grows to be extremely tall. A 200 gallon tank is a minimum for this fish.
You have learned from this too, I am sure, but you have to expect that people will have mixed reactions to your post about the death of this fish.

Lion_Crazz's list of fish and inverts to avoid is great. You should know that it was started the same week Seth got the bat so he probably didn't see it yet. He trusted the guy that sold it to him and knows that it was a mistake
