My biocube 8 tank

Well as you all may know I currently have a 29 gallon reef. When it comes to reefs you cannot just have one. So the other day I went out and bought another one! I like making aquarium diaries so I thought that I would do the same even though its such a small tank. So here we are at about day 1 of the live rock.

It has been a while since I have cycled. I added half a block of frozen food to the tank to start the cycle. Will this do? I cant test the aquarium because my test kit is old. Im getting one that should ship here by Friday.
