My bta did the same thing for afew weeks after i got him, he still stays under his rock for short periods every day. What i thought was a pale green anenome was actually a bleached unhealthy one. I have had him 2 months now and he is getting better, his color os darkening up and he stays out in the light for long periods now. He now fully expands when he is out. I feed him at least every other day, some kind of frozen foods, and my clown gives him flake when he isn't hungry himself
Give it time to recover from stress of shipping or acclamation.

Anemones are finicky critters. I just got a sebae anemone, and it has been rolling around the tank for a week now. you can try to place them, inevitably they will find a spot on their own. If the BT is staying in one spot thats good, but if it keeps wandering, then its time to double check your tank for levels and possible chemical war.
So far my sebae seems to like the far left corner at the base of my tree sponge. Which isn't the best for viewing, but the little guy's tentacles are out, which is a good sign. Giggle we should put out a thread:
How to Understand Your Anemone:
1.) If anemones tentacle are open......
2.) If anemone's.................closed.....

So how is the little guy today?

Great idea! And...Why oh why does he poop out of the same mouth he eats with! My kids get a kick out of that!

Simplicity my friend.
Anemones are very simple organisms. One way in and one way out.

Mine has done the same thing, moving under a large piece of LR.
After I got him, he was very healthy and stayed in a perfect spot for 3 weeks or more. But since then, he moved out of the light and is upside down under a rock. Im hoping he moves back into some place visible shortly. My clowns arent happy.

Yeah mine is upside down also, my clown gets almost a look of panic and goes into a rubbing frenzy whenever his anenome closes up. then nips at anything that comes anywhere near the trio. He sometimes rushes to the glass gives me a pleading look then rushes back to his pal. almost like a dog wanting me to follow him to do something for his anenome, so funny

A few days after my post, my RBTA moved back out into the light. Lower than where he started from, so I guess he is happier in a little less strong a light.
and lol that the clowns dont seem to know any different.

I have a sebae that has turned himself into tumblewwed too. LOL He's been rolling all over the place. He looks really healthy?? Let me know how the roller makes out. I just made an effort to stick him in a vry still spot to see if he sticks because it looks like he's getting blown around!

I dunno but mnie seems to like supper low light cause he looks good when i only have my actinics on so i decided to see what would happen if i put him in my fuge...just put him in today. Im actually starting to think it was too hot or something for though which could explain why he came out when the hallides were off. But i have no idea what happend to yours. How old is your tank?

I have a BTA that has me freaked. It found a hollow place in a rock and is now in the center of the rock. I am wondering if the Halide are to hot also. I just got him yesterday and also the 175 W Halide and X2 65 W actinics. I just hope he is going through a stress state.

I have found that with anemones if they stay in one spot and start to move or lose color you might want to check your water temp. They will go under a rock so the halides won't burn them but usually come out alittle more each day. You might want to pay close att. to your iodine levels that is sunblock for anemones help repair the burns from the halides. Mine when i got them all hide under rocks at first then slowly came out. 2-400 watt mh Once I had a heater hang up and had my water temp at 92. The other time my fans all quit and the temp got to 89. I keep my water at 80. they do perfect.
Good luck
